Creating Contact List
To create your email campaigns or distribute the online surveys, you need to create at least one contact list. Contact list is a database that contains records and fields (attributes) that store personal information about each contact. Set up as many attributes as you want, in any format. The contact lists can store more information of your recipients than just name and email. For instance, you can set up a contact list which contains customers' name, gender, email, phone number, zip code, birthday, country, hobby. etc. The more information you collect, the more you can personalize your content for each recipient. Please note, there is no limitation on how many fields one contact list can have, however, you must set up one and only one field whose data type is "Email" for your contact list.
You can create a brand new contact list, or import an existing contact list from external data source. KMailer can import contact lists from almost all data repositories, including text file, CSV file, Excel table, Access, SQL Server,Oracle, MySQL, FoxPro, and all ODBC-capable database systems.
To create a new contact list, please follow these instructions:
Select menu "File" -> "New" -> "Contact List" -> "Normal List", and KMailer will pop up the "New Contact List Wizard" window. This step-by-step wizard will walk you through the whole process of creating a new contact list: Name and describe your new contact list, How do you want to create your contact list: Create a New list or Import an existing one, Set fields for your new list (Create new list) or specify the data source (Import existing list), and KMailer will automatically create the list for you with the information you provided.
