Step-by-step Guide: How to record audio files on computer

The RecordAudio module allows you to record music, voice and any other kind of sound from the sound card that is installed on your computer. You can record audio from different sources: microphone, CD-player, telephone line and so on. The following step-by-step guide shows you how to record audio files on computer. At first you should Download Movavi AudioSuite.

Step 1. Connect audio recording devices.

You can record audio from different sources: microphone, CD-player, telephone line and so on. Before starting audio recording, make sure a recording device you want to use is connected to your computer.

Step 2. Start the Record Audio module of Movavi AudioSuite.

You should download Movavi AudioSuite first. After download is finished, you should install it correctly on your PCs and run it so you can enter the main interface of Movavi AudioSuite.

Step 3. Set audio files you want to record on computer.

On the right of Record Audio, there are lots of devices for you to set audio files you want to record on PCs according to your demands. You can use those devices in the red region to set your recorded audio. The details about those devices as follows:

• From the Recording Device list select the device you will use for audio recording. If there is only one audio recording device on your computer (for example, a standard sound card), it will be selected automatically.
• From the Recording Source list select the recording source you will use: microphone, CD-player, telephone line and so on.
• From the Audio sound quality list select a desired level of quality for recorded audio.
• From the Audio format list select one of output audio formats: WAV, MP3 or WMA.
• From the Format presets list select a necessary preset for an output format.
• In the Output Folder field define the folder where an output audio file should be saved.
• In the Filename field specify the name under which an output audio file should be saved.

Step 4. Start to record audio files on computer.

You can click Start Recording to record audio files on computer. The Rec indicator will appear next to the Start button. If you want to stop recording audio, click Stop Recording. And from Recorded Audio Files list, you can learn the information of recently recorded audio files. After recording, Audio will be saved in the specified folder under the defined name in the selected output format.
