Unleash Your Shuffle
Currently if iTunes detects that the songs which are on your Shuffle do not exist on your computer it will delete the songs off your Shuffle.
With iPod 2 iPod you can transfer music to your Shuffle without having the songs physically on your computer. Freeing it from this restriction!
Please be aware that the songs will be removed if you run iTunes! A backup and restore only operates on the iPod database not the actual songs. If iTunes deletes the songs, you will have to transfer the music back onto your Shuffle using iPod 2 iPod.
Please Note: Because iTunes automatically deletes files, it is a good idea to set iTunes not to start automatically when your Shuffle is connected.
How many iPods can I connect at once?
You are only limited by the number of USB/Firewire connections available on your computer.
How much disk space does the backup facility use?
The backup facility makes a copy of your iPod database, not the songs themselves. If your iPod was a book, think of the backup as taking a copy of the book's index, not the actual content. This being the case, the backup takes up very little space, but will depend upon the number of songs you have stored on your iPod. The backup is stored on the iPod, not on your computer.
Can I run the program from my iPod?
Yes. Simply copy the iPod 2 iPod directory from [install drive]:\Program Files into the root directory of your iPod. You can then run the program from this directory.
Make sure the computer your iPod is connected to has the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 installed. If not visit the Microsoft Windows Update site to download it. Please discontinue the use of the software if you intend to do this. We do not endorse the sharing or copying of copyright material.
