An intuitive graphical network-troubleshooting/diagnostic tool PingPlotter will help you diagnose and troubleshoot network problems. PingPlotter Standard (previously called Ping Plotter Shareware or Ping Plotter 2.x) is a network troubleshooting and diagnostic tool for Windows 98, ME, 2000, 2003 and XP.
It uses a combination of traceroute, ping, and whois to collect data quickly, and then allows you to continue to collect data over time to give you the information you really need to identify problems (both short-term and long-term trends).
PingPlotter is unique in its ability to collect data (over a period of hours, days or weeks), and then allow you to focus on particular aspects of that data to determine where the problem is happening.
PingPlotter graphically shows problems in a way that allows you to shorten the time it takes to pinpoint a problem.
Here are some key features of "PingPlotter Standard Edition":
Easy to use! PingPlotter's basic mode means you just type in the address you want information about and hit "Trace".
Graphs the response time through the route of the packet from source to destination.
Uses multiple threads to increase performance and accuracy.
Graphs any host over time, allowing you to scroll back and forth over time, and zoom in on any specific time to find out where problems occur.
PingPlotter's graph can be resized, rescaled, zoomed, dragged and manipulated to give you exactly the information you need to find a problem. Helps you identify whether a connectivity problem is your ISP or network, the host you're connecting to or somewhere on the internet between you and the remote host.
Creates nice images (via clipboard copy, or saving as BMP, GIF or PNG files) that can be sent via e-mail.
Schedule automatic saving of images (BMP, GIF or PNG format), or saving of the underlying raw data.
Keep track of route changes.
Can do traceroute using either Windows-standard ICMP echo requests, Unix-standard UDP requests, or TCP requests (ie: HTTP, FTP, etc).
Exports any portion of your collected data to a text file for analysis by other software packages.
Built for long-term monitoring.
Will save your accumulated data for a host to a file and then allow you to reload and continue.
You can save and load sample sets, and then resume the trace.
High performance, low overhead.
Alerts will allow you to set parameters where you want to be notified of the condition.
Built-in Whois.
