Strength:
According to users' response, the download speed of Orbit Download is quite quick; as a freeware application, which is convenient for users to accelerate the download speed of multi-media files or other large programs. The use of Orbit Downloader is a piece of cake. Since Orbit Downloader supports downloading streaming media, we could download recreational files by this tool.
Weakness:
There seems to be some crashes with system when launching it. There is no build-in Help File while the online Help contains much information which may make users confused at first glance.
Benefits
There is no need to mention the importance of a tool for download. As we know, the most popular tool for download is Orbit Downloader. The reason why we choose this downloader is the amazing download speed it offers us. Furthermore, this tool provides us good service and it is a freeware application.
Sometimes I had to stop downloading software out of urgency; if I forgot using Orbit Downloader or Flashget to download it, I had to restart the same software again. The waiting process kept me waiting and making me bored--who wanted to endure the same process again and again? I assume that you've experienced the similar condition as I suffered. It's not convenient for us to download same software a second time; while Orbit Downloader or Flashget could support "pause and resume downloading" function, which could remember the URL of the downloaded software. When we leave the software paused, this smart tool will record how many percent of the software done--then we can re-launch Orbit Downloader and "order" it to resume the tasks. It's not only convenient but also quicker than the common downloader tools.
There is a scheduling for download--if you have a lot of files to download, you can use Orbit Downloader to grab all the URLs, and arrange them at an appropriate time. I’ve never personally used this but I can imagine it can be useful if you have dial-up or a slow connection.
I've found it supports multi language, which comforts different users to share Orbit Downloader. It's quite considerate.
Setup
It takes only a few seconds to install Orbit Downloader. There is no adware, spyware as well as viruses in this program, so you could install it without fears. The installation is easy and straightforward, anyone would install Orbit Downloader with ease.
Should you decide to remove this tool, it does offer us a shortcut to uninstall. It's quite comfortable to find uninstall icon, which is more convenient for users. After uninstall, there will be an empty folder left; if you want to remove the whole program completely, remove the empty folder is the last step of uninstall.
Interface
The interface of Orbit Downloader is similar to Flashget, while there are certainly some differences between them. You could either select "file" or just click "new" button to download a new file. It's not a tediousness because it could meet different users' needs--for a newbie, they may be more intuitive by the buttons; while a sophisticated user may prefer the hidden functions of tools.
P.S.: the interface adopts white as the main color, which makes users feel comfortable.
System Requirements
Orbit Downloader is compatible with all Windows operating systems, including the latest Vista. The requirement for RAM is very low that can be ignored. Also, since Orbit Downloader is a lightweight program, there is no more than 8MB space to be taken for the installation. The requirements, indeed, are quite easy to meet.
Conclusion
Orbit Downloader is easy and convenient for users to operate. There are lots of people prefer this powerful download manager as their favorite download tool. It's not hard to find it worth recommending, for its high speed of download and the latest version does improve a lot--for recreational functions, you could use "grab++" to download what you wants it to do: video or audio files, even flash (.swf format). I think the interface of Orbit Downloader could be nicer, for it could run on Windows Vista; there should be more transparent effects in its interface. While compared with Flashget, Orbit Downloader still needs improving in functions—when I tried to drag a URL to it, there is no response; while Flashget would start to download when I do the same operation. So I hope next version could absorb its rival’s advantages and improve its features better and better. Since competition promotes the prosperity of market, I hope Orbit Downloader as well as Flashget would hold their market tightly and bring up more benefits for users.
Strongly recommended!
