KickAgent

Moreover, you can start several instances, each to watch its own instance of Agent.

You then have to modify the title string in Agent (Options/User and System Profile) so that it's unique for each instance. This string might also be passed as a parameter should you launch KickAgent from a shortcut or a command prompt.

It's really quite simple. Launch the Agent, then launch KickAgent and type in the first letters of the desired Agent's title bar string and press the "Find process" button. You must type at least as many characters as required to uniquely identify an Agent process. When found, click the "Enable" button. Pressing "OK" will dismiss KickAgent to the status bar where it will lurk, watching Agent.

It is written to work for Windows NT, as it measures process time used by the Agent process. When process time drops below a certain limit, KickAgent assumes Agent has stopped and issues a "Get Marked Messages" command. On Windows 9x, process time is not available, so on these platforms the disk space is monitored and when the available space is constant (or rather, has stopped shrinking) during the interval choosen, KickAgent activates.

Of course, it also checks for error dialog boxes, dismisses them and restarts
downloading.
