Filehunter finds files, search files, search results, search zip files, regular expressions, explore, view files, display search strings, match text ,multiple text, uses files extensions & dates, files size, text, attributes & case sensitive,
Pros: It is more powerful than Windows built-in Find File tool.
Cons: The GUI makes me feel a little confused, let alone the beginners.
Benefits:
Forget where the file was saved - it happens very often. When we are in this situation, we would like try Windows built-in Find File tool first, however, it sometimes could not meet our needs, while Filehunter may be a better choice at this moment. If several letters of the filename and/or file extension are known, it locates files and folders in many ways. There are several powerful search features, such as searching Zip files, searching Word documents and Excel Spreadsheets, etc.
It works fairly well when searching small directories, only a few seconds the work will be done, while to large directiories, it slows down as Windows built-in Find File tool does. According to its performance, Filehunter counts as a great helper when you need a powerful tool to find your lost files.
Set up:
There is no spyware, adware, or malware combined with the setup file, it is 100% clean, so you can install it without hesitation. And the installation is quick and straightforward, you could easily finish it.
When you never need it, there is a quick door Filehunter offers to uninstall the entire program, there will be no useless file left in your drive, it is friendly.
Interface:
What makes me feel a little pity is the GUI of Filehunter. The background color is too “bright”, I can not keep looking at the panel. Plus the designers try to put all the function-options on it. This definitely unfriendly to both the sophisticated users and novices.
Conclusion:
FileHunter is an advanced version of the standard Find File program; through it you could get your lost files more easily. But in the next version, I wish the GUI would be friendlier. All in all, I strongly recommend it.
