ImToo DVD Ripper - MPEG Converter

ImToo DVD Ripper provides you advanced setting to get a specific sound and picture effect. If you are a verteran, then following description will help you to specify the setting.

Advanced Input Setting
After Click Setting --> input settings, you will see following windows. Here, you can modify many options to get different sound and image effect. following are the main description about these settings.
  Output frame rate:
you can select the Frame rate of the output video file. 25(PAL) or 23.97, 29.97 (NTSC).
(Note: we suggest that you should not converting NTSC to PAL, or PAL to NTSC. Since PAL and NTSC are two different formats, if you convert PAL to NTSC, or NTSC to PAL, the picture and sound effect may be influenced.

  Audio
48KHz To 44.1 KHz
:
0 : Normal mode (fastest)
1 : High quality (slower)
2 : Export AC3
Exports the source AC3 to an AC3 audio file along with the exported AVI file.
3 : 44.1KHz (no conversion)
Select this option when you do not want to make an audio rate conversion
4 : 48.0KHz (no conversion)
Same purpose as choice 3 except refers to 48.0KHz.
Volume:
No normalization is performed; so, if the value is set too high, clipping of the audio signal may occur. A value of 1 can not generate distortion (crackling), but the output sound may be very low. The default value produces a good volume for most DVDs.
You can make a few clips of the movie where you know the volume is high, and adjust this value in order to get a satisfactory volume. You can also use the sound normalizer tool (in Tools menu) to find an optimum volume.
Dolby Surround:
This option enable Dolby surround sound down mixing and perserves a better sound in 5.1 FX stereo mode.

  Save you DVD Drive.
Here, you can create a temporary buffer to avoid having the DVD drive being switched on/off too frequently.
(Note: we suggest that you use RAM buffer to get an faster ripping speed since you disables virtual mempry.

  Subtitle Offset
You can specify the vertical offset of the subtitle. since this option will be automatically adjusted if the subtitle extends beyond the screen, usually you don't need to change it.

  Luminance filter:
You can specify the brightness level here.
A luminance filter value of 128 does not change the brightness level; whereas a value of 256 will double the brightness level. A value less than 128 darkens the movie.

  Decss
  Use ASPI:
ASPI is an acronym that stands for Advanced SCSI Programming Interface.
DeMacroVision:
This option will remove macro vision protection from the DVD movie.
Key serch:
Mode for CSS key search (the mode 0 works fine in 99% of cases).
0 - Search a key one time when starting the ripping process
1 - Search a new key at each VOB-ID
2 - Search a new key at each CELL-ID
3 - Search a new key at each VOB/CELL-ID combination
4 - Disabled

  Misc
IDCT: (It is the short term for Inverse Discrete Cosine Transform routines)
0 - SSe/3DNow+(intel)
1 - MMX(Intel P2,AMD)
2 - Reference IEEE 118
3 - FPU(best quality all)
4 - SSE2 (intel P4)
MMX is fast and suitable for most CPUS. FPU selection gives the best quality. you can select one according to your needs.
Deinterlace Filter:
you can use this option when you source image is interlaced and you want to remove the interlacing to produce a progressive NTSC movie.
Overlap:
This option is used to determine the length in seconds of the overlapping segment portion that successively created volumes will contain. For example: If Overlap=10, and the first volume created ends at a time of 1:10:25, then the next volume created will start at the time 1:10:15
