What's new in Apple Safari 4.0.
- Supports more standards - Safari 4.0 implements lots of standards such as: HTML 5, CSS 3, WebKit etc.
- Fast speed to run Javascript - It is said that Safari 4.0 has been accelerated more in reading Javascript, Apple Inc says its speed is 7.8 times of IE.
- Top Sites - it is a similar function like "Speed Dial" on Opera browser. Safari 4.0 will track the web URLs you have visited and rank them for your favorites, presenting them in galance at most 24 thumbnails. Moreover, you can edit the web previews in Top Sites and fix its displaying position. If the web in Top Sites refreshes after you visited it last time, there will be a star at the image right corner for reminding.
- Cover flow - this specific effect is copying from iTunes player. When you browse websites, it will show you a full-page preview of these websites.
- Smart Address field - when you start to input words, Safari will offer you suggestions. You can see the Top Hits and best matches from the browsing history.
- Phishing and malware protection - if you land on a distrustful website, it does not matter. Safari could remind you at once and won't open it automatically.
