How to use Beyond Compare with ClearCase?

Beyond Compare is an advanced file and folder comparison utility for Windows, it helps you visualize changes in your code, keeps your directories in sync, and validates copies of your data.
ClearCase is a software tool for revision control (configuration management, SCM etc) of source code and other software development assets. It is developed by the Rational Software division of IBM.
Beyond Compare can be configured as the external difference utility in many popular VCS applications. The following are configuration instructions for working with ClearCase.
To use Beyond Compare as a diff tool in dynamic view:

To use Beyond Compare as a diff tool in dynamic view:

1. Go into the "C:\Program Files\Rational\ClearCase\lib\mgrs" directory.
2. Create a backup of the file named "map".
3. Edit "map" and change the line:
text_file_delta xcompare ..\..\bin\cleardiffmrg.exe
to:
text_file_delta xcompare C:\Progra~1\Beyond~1\bc2.exe

1. Download ClearDiffBC.zip (13kB).
2. Follow instructions in the ReadMe.txt file in the zip.
