How to Start BearShare?

With the world's fastest downloads, you can instantaneously access millions of songs and explore a great music community. You can also download entire albums or individual songs.





How to Install BearShare?

1. When you begin downloading BearShare from our website, you will receive this screen:



2. Click the "Run" button to begin installation. If you want to save the installation file on your computer before running in, click the "Save" button, and then run the saved file.

3. When downloading you will most probably get the security warning window shown below.



4. Click the "Run" button.

5. After a few seconds, the file installation screen will be displayed:



6. It is strongly recommended to install BearShare in the default folder. If, however, you want to use a different folder, click the top "Change..." button and choose a destination folder for installing the BearShare application.

7. To choose a different download folder (in which your downloaded files will be saved), click the lower "Change..." button and choose a destination folder for your BearShare downloads. You can also choose another disk on your computer.

8. Click the "Next" button to continue.



9. Select the I accept the license agreement checkbox, and click the "Next" button. The installation progress bar is now displayed:



10. In the next screen you will be offered to set Google with BearShare as your start page:



11. Click the "Accept" button to continue the installation and set the new start page, or click the "Decline" button to continue the installation without setting the new start page.

12. The last screen in the installation process is displayed:



13. Click the "Done" button to complete the installation and create a BearShare Quick Launch icon on your desktop and run BearShare now. You can click any check box to clear it.



Registering an account

1. Entering Your Sign-In Details

Choose a Nickname you want other people to see
Enter your Email address, (enter a real email, so we can send you your password in case you forget it)
Choose a Password. You have to type in your password twice for confirmation.
Click "Next"

2. More Information

BearShare automatically displays the country you are registering from.
If you are in the U.S., you can enter a state.
Enter the rest of the details shown above, and click "Next"

3. Your Personal Profile

This screen is where you start your own personal page in BearShare. This page will appear in the "BearShare People" section, and be viewed by the whole BearShare community (only if you want it to).

Click "Browse" to find and upload a picture of yourself
Fill in the other details: something about yourself, languages that you speak, your favorite music genres, etc.
If you don't want other BearShare users to view your profile, uncheck the checkbox on the left

You can always edit your personal profile later:
Through the "Tools" menu > My Account Settings > Personal Profile or In the navigation pane, go to "People" > Click "Edit My Profile"

Click "Done".
