How to rip DVD to AVI with Sothink DVD Ripper?

Step 1. Insert the DVD disk into your DVD-ROM, and choose "Select Source DVD drive".
If you have more than one DVD drive, make sure which one has got the DVD disk and you have selected the right one.
If the DVD movie is stored in the hard drive, choose "Select DVD folder from hard disk drive".
You should manually specify the DVD folder in the window beneath which show the file system of your computer.
Click "Next" to load the DVD movie.
Step 2. In the dialog of this step you can see a list of all the movies included in the DVD disk.

Uncheck the "Video Track" and check one "Audio Track", you can get an AVI formatted audio with no picture.

- Normally, a DVD contains a main movie and several extra movies. And a movie consists of one video, several audios and the relating subtitles. You can see the detailed information of a movie in the list, including the movie's duration, the audio and subtitle's language, the format and number of channels of the audio. When you select one movie, the software will select the video track, one audio and the corresponding subtitle for you by default.
Uncheck the "Video Track" and check one "Audio Track", you can get an AVI formatted audio with no picture.
- Check this selection: "Convert the movies and save the created files repectively", then the movies will be processed separately. If the box is unchecked, then all the selected movies will be converted and saved as one file.
Step 3. Specify the path
- Select a path that you want to use for the created movies. The program will automatically use the volume label of the DVD as the name of the output file. If there are more than one converted files, then each file's name will be differed by an ordinal number which is automatically added by the program.
For example, if the volume label is superman, then the created files should be named as superman_1.avi, superman_2.avi ...
- Pre-defined profiles
The program shows 10 different pre-defined profiles for you to choose. Each pre-defined profile has specified the video and audio settings that are the best for certain target.
- User-defined profiles
You can also specify the video and audio settings by yourself. Set the Sample Rate, Bit Rate and Channel for the audios and the Video Encoder, Dimension and Frame Rate for the videos respectively.
Click "Encoder Configuration" button for more detailed settings for the encoder. If you select the encoder which has not installed on your computer yet, the program will prompt the corresponding download information of the encoder to you.
For the Frame Rate, "Do Not Change" is recommended choice for the best effect.
- Click "Next" to start converting.
