About Registry First Aid

Registry First Aid scans the Windows registry for orphan file/folder references, finds these files or folders on your drives that may have been moved from their initial locations, and then corrects your registry entries to match the located files or folders. In addition, if your registry has links to files of deleted applications, Registry First Aid will find these invalid entries and remove them from your registry. With Registry First Aid, your Windows registry will be always clean and correct, helping your programs load faster and speeding up your computer.

How to Restore full registry backup in Windows 98?

1. Free to download Registry First Aid and install it .

2. Run it by double clicking the " Registry First Aid" icon on your desktop.

3. On the Starting page you can select the action which you want to do: check the registry for errors or search the registry for unwanted entries . Click "Next" to continue .
Note: there's a configuration page opened by clicking the "Advanced settings" button on the Starting page.

4. Clicking on the top " View by ..." buttons will switch the view. Clicking on an item at the left navigation bar (like Invalid fonts error category or Caution safety level) will open a corresponding list with all the located invalid registry entries.


5. Choose a backup file name, you can change "Save the undo file ( regedit4 format) " option. To apply changes to the registry, press the "Fix it!" button. If the operation is successful, you will receive an information message.

6. To restore the registry to one of it's previous states, you can use click "Restore Backup" shortcut. You will be prompted to restart Windows®. After restarting you will see a restore screen with all registry backups you have.
