Save your Norton AntiVirus 2009 Product Key

If Norton AntiVirus 2009 is currently not installed on your computer, check the Product Key at the back of the CD sleeve, or in the confirmation email that you received from Symantec for your download purchase. Once you write down the Product Key, go to STEP 3.

1. Start your Norton product.

2. On the top of the main product window, click Norton Account.

3. Type in your email address and password for your Norton Account, then click Sign In.

If you do not have a Norton Account set up already, click Create a Norton Account, complete the form, then click Next.

4. Click Next to continue to your Norton Account.

5. Sign into your Norton Account using your email address and password.

6. Click the Norton product that you want to update.

7. Write down the Product Key.

8. Sign out of your Norton Account, then continue with STEP 3 below.

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool

1. Download the Norton Removal Tool.
Save the file to the Windows desktop.

2. On the Windows desktop, double-click the Norton Removal Tool icon.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Your computer may be restarted more than once, and you may be asked to repeat some steps after the computer restarts.
