How to Play Luck Charm Deluxe?

GAMEPLAY BASICS

Below is a screenshot showing a typical level in Luck Charm. Let's go over what all is on the screen.

Luck Charm Deluxe

Gold Coins-	All of the gold coins must be matched over to win the level.
Silver Coins-	Silver coins sit on top of gold coins. Match over the silver to get to the gold!
Score-	You get points for each match, the longer the match the more points!
Level Timer-	You have to clear out all the gold before the level timer runs out!
Reset Button-	If you find yourself stuck, or just want some new pieces, the reset button will reset all of the pieces on the level! It will recharge after a short time. It will become VERY helpful in later levels.
Menu Button-	If you want to quit or edit options such as fullscreen, volume or sound settings press it!
Level Coins-	This is the display of how many coins you have collected on the level so far.
Lucky Rainbow-	Every time you make a match of 4 or more charms your Lucky Rainbow will raise up! Once it gets all the way to the top, all of your matches are worth double points! Shiny gold pot included!
Current Match-	Your current match is identified by a white line connecting the selected pieces.

Luck Charm Deluxe is played using only the mouse. Unlike other matching games, in Luck Charm Deluxe you can match more than the typical 3 pieces. In fact you can match up to 60 (on levels that have at least 60 luck charms on them!).

To begin matching luck charms, simply press the left mouse button on the luck charm you would like to start with, and while still holding the left mouse button down, drag your mouse cursor to a neighboring matching luck charm.

Continue dragging over matching luck charms until you are out of luck charms to match, then simply release the mouse button! It's that easy!

OPTIONS

There are 2 options windows in Luck Charm Deluxe that allow for adjusting game settings.

From the Main Menu

The Options menu from the Main Menu includes the following options:

1. Fullscreen/Windowed - Select fullscreen or windowed mode.
2. Volume - Adjusts the overall volume of the game.
3. Music - Turn the music on or off.
4. Voice Overs - Turn all the voice overs on or off. This does not include sound effects.
5. Sound Effects - Turn all the sound effects off or on. This does not include voice overs.
6. Mouse Cursor - If "on" displays the custom cursor. "Off" displays the standard windows cursor.

Delete HighScores - This will reset the highscores. A confirmation window will pop up notifying you that this is undoable! So make sure you really want all those highscores gone!

From the "Menu" button within the game

The Options menu from the in-game Menu button include the following options:

1. Fullscreen/Windowed - Select fullscreen or windowed mode.
2. Volume - Adjusts the overall volume of the game.
3. Music - Turn the music on or off.
4. Voice Overs - Turn all the voice overs on or off. This does not include sound effects. Sound effeects can only be turned off from the main menu, options menu.

TIPS AND STRATEGIES

Luck Charm is easy to learn and a trick to master! So if you are stuck or want some help with strategy you have come to the right place!

Lucky Streak

A Lucky Streak happens when you get your Lucky Rainbow all the way up! To move the Lucky Rainbow up you have to make matches of 4 or more luck charms. Lucky Streaks are great for several reasons. The first is that they DOUBLE all of your points while your rainbow is all the way up. Secondly, they add a cool little "gold dot" to the level on the level select screen. I wonder what that is for? hmmm...

You can sustain a Lucky Streak by continually making matches of 4 or more luck charms as well. You can also stop the Lucky Rainbow from falling by making a match of 4 or better.

Tough Levels

So you are on a level you can't beat for the life of you huh? Well, rest assured the game has been "won" several times over so it is possible. So what to do about your tough level? Let's check out some things...

1. When you loose the level, did you notice that it was in a particular area of the game board? Next time you play the level, concentrate on that part of the board first. This more often than not will let you pass the level.

2. Make quicker matches. Instead of wasting time looking for the 34 long luck charm match, just do quick and easy 3's. They don't raise your Lucky Rainbow, but they do put the gold in the pot!

3. Use the Reset Button as much as possible to help you out. If you are struggling seeing matches or can't get a few you need, the reset button can save you! Well, sometimes it can. Used properly the Reset button is an amazing tool.

4. IF ALL ELSE FAILS!
Play the level in untimed mode! That's right! From the level select screen in the top corners you may choose from "timed" or "untimed". The game can be completed in Timed Mode, so only use this as a last resort!

Magic of the Reset Button

You will find that strategic use of the Reset Button will greatly improve your level completion performance. In the later levels of the game, the matches and boards become very challenging. The Reset Button is your greatest friend when you just can't see that match! It doesn't cost you anything, so use it!!

Making Longer Matches

Making longer matches at first seems a bit tricky, but if this is your goal there is a way to do it fairly consistently. Pick a luck charm that seems to be on the level more than others. Then try and match as many of the other luck charms as you can. When the luck charms reset after being matched you can build up your count of the particular luck charm you are trying to match. Then before long you will be able to make a HUGE match!
