Search everything - There's a big island to explore, but take a little time to examine every screen for clues.
Talk to everyone - There aren't many characters to talk to on the island, but be sure to talk to them all - including the parrot! She might require some tasks of you first but she has some helpful information for you. Also, certain actions can't occur until you've fully conversed with everyone.
