How to install Norton Internet Security 2008? |

1. Check to see if the computer meets the minimum system requirements
To successfully install Norton Internet Security 2008, your system must meet the following minimum requirements:
Basic requirements for Windows XP:
* Windows XP Home Edition or Professional Edition
* 300-MHz or faster processor
* 256 MB of RAM
* 350 MB of hard disk space
Basic requirements for Windows Vista:
* 1 GHz or higher processor
* 512 MB RAM
* 350 MB of available hard disk space
2. Prepare your system for installation
2-1 Remove any other antivirus or firewall programs that are installed.
To remove them, click Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove programs. In the list of current installed programs, click other antivirus or firewall programs, and then click Remove.
2-2 Ensure that you are connected to the Internet.
2-3 Exit all open programs on your computer, except for your Web browser.
3. Install and activate Norton Internet Security
3-1 Do one of the following:
* If you purchased a CD, insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive.
* If you downloaded your copy of Norton Internet Security, double-click the file that you downloaded.
3-2 In the opening panel, click Install Norton Internet Security.
3-3 Read the License Agreement, type your Product Key if prompted, and then click I Agree.
If you do not accept the License Agreement, you cannot continue the installation.
3-4 In the Installation Options panel, review the options, and then click Next.
3-5 In the Pre-Install Scan panel, click Start Scan.
The scan takes a few minutes.
3-6 In the Installation Confirmation panel, click Next.
3-7 In the Activation panel, wait for the progress bar to stop, and then click Next.
3-8 If the Norton Account panel appears, do one of the following:
* If you already have a Norton account, complete the "Sign in to an existing Norton Account" section.
* If you want to create a new Norton Account, complete the "Create a Norton Account" section, and then click Next.
3-9 Click Next.
3-10 In the Norton Internet Security Installation Complete panel, review your subscription details, and then click Finish.
4. Run LiveUpdate
4-1 In the Welcome to LiveUpdate panel, click Next to begin checking for the latest product updates.
4-2 On the next LiveUpdate panel, review the list of available updates, and then click Next to download the updates.
This process may take a few minutes.
4-3 On the final LiveUpdate panel, click Finish.
