How to Install McAfee AntiSpyware 2.0 with CD?

Install

When you first purchase a downloadable McAfee product, you will receive an email containing a link to download the product. Perform the followingsteps to download and install the product:

 

Click the link contained in the email from mcafee.com or mcafeestore.com.A download window will be displayed.
SelectSave.
Select the location to save the file and click OK.

Note: Make note of this location in case you need to reinstall at a later date. (McAfee recommends saving this to your Desktop to easily find it later.)
Once the file has been downloaded and saved to your computer, locate the file and double-click to begin installation.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Reinstall

If you still have the executable (.exe) file:

Locate the file previously saved to your computer
Double-click the the file to begin installation
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation
If you do not have the executable file:

To download the executable program file again, you should consider these things:

Where you purchased the program: There are two main sources for purchasing and downloading McAfee products - www.mcafee.com and www.mcafeestore.com (Digital River). Digital River is a partner vendor authorized to sell McAfee products and can be accessed from the mcafee.com web site by clicking Store in the top navigation bar.

Note: It is important to remember that www.mcafeestore.com is not part of McAfee. If you purchased a product from www.mcafeestore.com, you must download the product from there again.

What type of download you purchased: (Standard or Extended Download Service) When you purchase a downloaded McAfee product, you have the option to purchase the Extended Download Service, in which case a backup copy of your digital file is retained for one (1) year, allowing you to download the product again during that time. If you do not choose to not purchase this service, you will only have 30 days from the purchase date to download the product, after which time you will be unable to do so.

Note: The following instructions assume you are still within the downloadable time period as explained above.

If you purchased from www.mcafee.com:

Click my account in the top right of the page.
Enter the email address and password you originally registered with and click Log In.
Find the product and click the blue arrow under Download/Install.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the download and install of the McAfee product.

If you purchased from www.mcafeestore.com:

Enter your order number and password into the Quick Order Lookup box it the top right, and click Find.
Click Download. Click on the Save button and choose where you would like to save the product. McAfee recommends saving the file to your Desktop for easier access.
After choosing the location on the Save As screen, click Save and your download will begin.
After the transfer is complete, go to the location where you downloaded the program and double-click on the file to begin installation.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation of the McAfee product.

CD Installation

Insert the McAfee product CD into your CDROM drive. If you have AutoRun turned on, the McAfee Installation portion of the CD will open automatically after inserting the CD.
If Auto Run is not turned on, click Start, Run and type D:\setup.exe (Substitute the correct drive letter if different than D:\) and click OK.
Click Install McAfee® *****® (where *****® refers to the product name).
Follow the installation instructions.
When the installation is complete, click Finish.
If prompted, restart your computer to finish the installation.

If prompted, log in:

If you purchased using Microsoft Passport, click Sign In on the right side of the page. Enter your Passport login information and click OK.
If you didn't use Microsoft Passport, enter your login information and click Log In.
Click the blue down arrow button in the 'Update/Download' column.
The Installation Wizard appears. If it doesn't appear, click Start.
Click Continue.
Wait while the McAfee product downloads.
Once downloaded, follow the prompts to install the McAfee product.
