1. Launch Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 WLMM

Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 supports the opening of project files made in previous versions of Movie Maker. A WLMM project file isn't encrypted like a classic .mswmm file. It's a text file you can edit with Notepad. They are files with .mswmm extensions.

2. Add Music to Windows Live Movie Maker 2011

Users can either click the add videos and photos button, select the video you want to add then click open or drag and drop your music from your desktop, and your music are added to Movie Maker so you can get started.

3. Edit by Video Tools Edit Tab

In WLMM, the storyboard and timeline of presious version have been integrated into a storyboard, but the time dimension might not be as evident as in classic versions of Movie Maker. The transitions in WLMM and visual effects are not as many as in classic versions of Windows Movie Maker 2011.

When you are finished editing and ready to share your video on YouTube, or save it for use in a DVD project by Windows Movie Maker 2011, just using the drop down icon or the Home tab in the left of the main menu, and there's an 'Audio mix' volume slider in the Home tab which can adjust the relative volumes of the audio of the music track.
