Ms Office 2007 suite introduced a new file saving format Open XML (eXtensible Markup Language), created for document, spreadsheet, presentation etc. Office file. In PowerPoint 2007, the presentation file will be saved as .pptx if you use the default setting. But for the old version PowerPoint, .pptx file can not be opened directly. Step 1. Download Microsoft Office, install and launch it on your computer. Open the XML presentation with PowerPoint 2007.



Step 2. Press the Office logo button at the top left corner, it will pop up a drop down menu. Select "Save As.." -> "PowerPoint 97-2003 Presentaion", and then PowerPoint 2007 will convert the new XML presentation to old ppt format automatically.
