Microsoft Word 2007 default file saving format .docx which is based on Open XML (eXtensible Markup Language), there is also another popular format called ODF (Open Document Format) which is similar with Microsoft Open XML. Step 1. Download IBM Lotus Symphony, install and launch it on your computer. Click "File" at the menu bar, and open the Word 2007 document that you want to convert.



Step 2. After that, choose "Save As..." from the "File" drop-down menu, it will pop up a windows to ask you the file saving format.



Step 3. Select (*.odt) from the saving file format list, and click save button, the Word 2007 new format file will be converted to ODF format..
