Google Chrome 7 Guide: How to Use GPU Acceleration

Google Chrome 7 has been availiable recently with some great new features added. The following tutorial will teach you how to easily enable and use the new features, GPU Acceleration, in Google Chrome 7.

How to Use GPU Acceleration in Google Chrome 7

1. Download and install the dev channel version of Google Chrome 7.

2. Right click the Google Chrome shortcut, and choose properties.

3. Enter the following to the end of "target" text field.
--enable-accelerated-compositing

Onced finished, the text field should be as this:
"C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --enable-accelerated-compositing

4. Click "OK" to close the window.

5. Close all Google Chrome windows, and open Chrome from the shortcut you have just edit.

The GPU acceleration of your Google Chrome 7 will be turned on. If you want to test it out, go to http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/ and try running some of the examples that were designed to show how awesome IE9 is. These tests now show how awesome Google Chrome 7 is as well.
