How to Encrypt Website with HTML Guard?

A common problem with HTML pages is the fact that the source code is freely visible to all. Because of this they can be copied and modified without restriction. HTML Guard is a good helper to prevent people from copying your source code. Now, let's learn how to encrypt website with HTML Guard.

 

Step1: Install and Launch this encrypt website tool.

The installation is easy and straightforward, just by following the navigation, you could easily finish it (If you don't have the setup file, click here to download the free trail version of HTML Guard). Then, launch this program.

 

Step2: Set the Parameters.

Now, our work is selecting the HTML files which need protecting. As we've seen on the panel, there are two options: Protect all files in a directory & Protect following HTML files. The former could encrypt a foler with various kind of files, the later encrpt HTML files. We choose the later here.
Click "Add", there will pop up a dialog box, browse and select the HTML files need protecting, which will be listed on the left window.



If you click "Protect files" right now, there will pop up a prompt, see as follows:



So, from this prompt, we know that we'd better backup the files before encrption, so set the output and other parameters first.
Click "Output", the panel will change to



Select "Copy to the following directory" and browse to choose the directory. The default setting makes "Copy linked files, too (images, sounds,...)" and "Create backup copies of the unmodified files before overwriting html pages" marked. It is conciderate to users who may want recover the files, since the overwritten encrytion webpage could not be restored to the original.
According to yourselves, it is easily to finish setting "Source code", "Images/Texts" and "Result" just imitate I've mentioned above.

 

Step3: Start encryption.

When all the preparing work has been finished, we could start encryption. Click "Protect files", HTML will take the left works. After a few seconds, you could see the encrpted HTML files on "Result" panel, see as follows:

All hints and texts that indicate an unregistered copy will be displayed.
