How to Create your first Karaoke with Lyrics4You?

To open Editor window click on button with ED caption or select option from popup menu. You can also use CTRL+E keyboard shortcut.

If any song is already loaded and has Karaoke text, it will be shown in Editor automatically. Lyrics4You also recognizes Karaoke from MIDI and KAR files.

If you didn't create Karaoke text yet it's the best moment to start your job. Stop or pause the song if it is loaded in the Player window. Write or paste song lyrics in the text box on the right side of the window.

TIP: Keep the lines of the lyrics text as short as it is possible. When you display Karaoke with AutoFit option L4Y looks for the longest line and adjust the size of the Karaoke font

When you have lyrics text in text box on the right, use the left arrow button to split lyrics into single words that will be added to Karaoke list on the left side of Editor window. With the right arrow button you can always merge back single words or syllables into lyrics text.

When you select one of the Karaoke list elements you will see that text contents of this element will be displayed in the text box below the list and text editor.

It you want to split words into syllables select the word on Karaoke list and insert new line before selected element with the SELECT keyboard shortcut. New empty element should be selected now. Press ENTER on your keyboard and write a syllable of the word you want to split. Press ENTER one more time to update new contents of the Karaoke element. Now move to the element with the word, press ENTER and shorten text as required. If you want to split word into more than two syllables, repeat the action as we described above. It's not very complicated so soon you'll be able to do it really fast.

When you select Karaoke element, with some of them the Line break option will be indicated. It means that this word or syllable is the last one in the line. You can change the status of this option and choose to end the line with other word or syllable.

Time capturing

Set the song position to the start. You can also simply stop the song playing.

Start song playing with PLAY button in Editor or Player Window. You can also use the keyboard shortcut 'X'. Quickly select the first element on Karaoke list. Follow the song and press SPACE bar on your keyboard (optionally CAPTURE button) for each sung syllable or word. Everytime you catch specific time next element on Karaoke list will be selected. If you have Karaoke window opened you can watch capturing results in real time.

Of course you can change the song position and start capturing anytime. When you captured time tags once you can change its value to obtain most precise result.

Now it's time to save your work. You can store your Karaoke lyrics within the song file (if you opened it before) or save as a custom LRS file. If you want automatically load karaoke lyrics from such file with the song it must be stored in the same directory where the song file is stored.

TIPS

• When you're capturing time tags you can slow down the song speed rate. Sometimes it helps to obtain better synchronization result.
• If you want to play song from specific word or syllable simply doubleclick on choosen element of the Karaoke list in Editor window.
• Learn how to use keyboard shortcuts it always makes your life easier.

NOTE

When you are in Karaoke edition mode L4Y Player is always blocked.It means that you cannot open and play other than currently loaded
song.
