Guide to Convert Wave to Text.
This month's most popular software guide you should know - How to move photos from my iPhone to my computer

Convert Wave to Text
    1. Using "Add..." you may add a number of wave files to process one after other. See if the 'Automatic' box is checked

    2. Please select your desired accuracy level. More the accuracy more the CPU time consumption

    3. Please select proper speed level for the work. The speed setting indicates the CPU usage. Level 1 means one hour of audio will take four hours to process. Level5 means one hour of audio will take 1 hour to process (Ideally). Results will vary depending upon your machine

    4. Not inserting a properly trained speaker name will drop the accuracy by 50%

    5. Click 'open wave file(s)' to start the processing.

    6. That's it! Sit back until you receive a message "Success! All waves were converted successfully"

    7. Where is the converted text of every wave file. You don't have to worry about that, start the editor and open the specific wave file

    8. For getting some hidden error messages please uncheck 'Automatic' and then click 'open wave file(s)'. Checking 'Automatic' suppresses all pop up messages

    9. This application is developed using United research Labs 'Wave To text ActiveX OCX Component'

    10. If you have a speech engine manufactured by a different company please insert its SAPI 4.0 compatible title in the top right box. If you don't understand what we are saying, forget it!

    11. You may also apply your own custom vocabulary for conversion. You just have to check 'Use Custom Vocabulary File' with giving location of the 'myvocabulary.txt ' file.

Wave To Text Editor
The Editor is useful in high speed editing of the converted text. The editing is comprised of checking every word via playback with possible substitutions and of saving the changed word if wrong. After editing you may save the text as a text (*.txt) file to any folder you desire.

    1. If you record a wave and come systematically to this last step of wave to text conversion, the editor will promptly open the wave file you just recorded and converted. If not it will point you to open one. Also if you point this to a unconverted wave file, this will show a error

    2. Click open[...] to open a wave file which you finished converting to text

    3. If the conversion was successful as seen above, the editor will display all the text converted

    4. Now, How to start ?

    5. Just select the first word 'this' (select it exact carefully) and click 'Start Editing'

    6. You must see this...

    text editor

    7. Also you will hear a playback of the word 'this', if the word is correct, click 'Save->Next' to go to the next word 'is'. If the word is incorrect you may change it by typing it or see if a substitution is available in the drop down list below

    8. Clicking 'Save->Next ' will take you to the next word. Continue until you finish editing all the words. Note that if you find it tedious to hit F5 for every word, you may do this automatically by checking 'Automatically increment next word'. This will automatically advance the word to the next one with leaving a specific amount of time delay (default of 1000ms = 1second ) between the advance. The delay is useful for giving you the time to press F9 or click 'stop' if the word is incorrect or needs a substitution

    9. 'Play one word - " will play for you the present word and the recognized word before it

    10. 'Play one word + " will play for you the present word and the next recognized word after it

    11. 'Play again normal' will play the same word again

    12. If you do not want every word playback you may check 'Disable word playback' on the 'Editor' dialogue

    13. Click 'Copy' to copy the text to clipboard

    14. Click 'Refresh' to refresh the edited text with edited one

    15. Please set your desired highlighted color using 'Set highlight color RGB'
Record wave files
    1. Please open a existing wave file to record to. Also check the appropriate option to use. Use 'record overwrite all ' to start over the wave file from scratch. Use 'record insert at start' too insert recording from start the earlier one is pushed at the end. use 'record insert at end' to insert recording at end'. This third option is most useful in creating a very long wave file

    2. If you wish to test the existing file or a newly recorded file use the 'wave player tool', executed from 'test'

    3. Always save a recorded wave file using the "Save As' dialogue. You may be prompted so before you exit the recorded

    4. To start recording click 'Start Record'

    5. To save a recording click the 'stop and save button'

    6. To continue a recording press the 'record continue' button

    7. You may play the recorded file, jump to start and end using the other 'Multimedia Rack' options

    8. The use of the Windows Sound recorder is a must for converting existing wave files to the correct sample rate of 22 or 44 KHz 16 bit wave
