Pass on tips - Every so often you'll have to serve a pair that can't agree on a dish. If you can't make both customers happy, it's better to choose the dish that will earn a tip from at least one customer, unless a goal calls for not upsetting any customers. A moderately satisfied pair will only give you $20, whereas an angry/happy pair will leave you with $30.
Try, try again - If you're stuck on a level, don't sweat it! You get to keep any earnings that you make from a completed level, even if you fail it, which means that every time you retry you'll be able to buy more upgrades to your restaurant. These upgrades are usually just what you need to pass the level.
Go for combos! - Try to get combos whenever you can, even if it takes you a little extra time. For example, if you have four tables with tips, it may be tempting to clean the table then pick up the tip before moving on to the next one. However, if you pick up all of the tips first you'll get a combo, then you'll get another one when you clean all of the tables.
