In a move that may prove particularly popular among academics and researchers, Google, an Internet search engine, has started indexing millions of Portable Document Format files.
PDF files are used for both text and images and are often used for long or complex documents like scholarly articles, product catalogs and legal papers. The company estimates that Google has indexed 70 percent of the publicly available PDF documents. Adobe Systems developed the PDF format. Its Acrobat software suite turns documents intended for a printer into formatted electronic pages that preserve the contents and simulate the appearance of printed pages. PDF files can even contain the fonts used to create the original document, and the files can be read by Acrobat Reader software.
Want to restrict your search to just PDF files at Google? Here are two ways to solution your question mainly:
1.Using the advanced search on the Google Web site.
- Open google.com and click on "Advanced search".

- Enter the search terms in the upper fields.

- Then select "Adobe Acrobat PDF" in format drop down box.

- Click "Advanced Search" and the search engine will give you the filtered result.

2. Make use of the inurl.
Google supports several advanced operators, which are query words that have special meaning to Google. Typically these operators modify the search in some way, or even tell Google to do a totally different type of search. inurl is one of these.
Command after your search words. For instance, a search for "downloadatoz.com inurl:pdf" tells Google to find documents containing the word "downloadatoz.com" and which have pdf in their URL. So far, this seems to pretty much ensure that you only get back PDF files. Multiword queries also seem to work -- "amazon ebay inurl:pdf" brings back PDF files mentioning both of those companies, for example.
-
Input the query in google search text frame.

- Then click the "Google Search" button and you can quickly agin the results you want.

With these two ways, it will be much faster for you to enter the search parameter directly in the input field.
TIPS: If you want to search PDF files quickly and don't need accurate result, you can input "define: file format (PDF) + search query" directly in the "google search" interface.
