How to Recover Damaged DBF Databases using Advanced DBF Repair? |

Advanced DBF Repair is a powerful tool to repair corrupt DBF files. It can scan the DBF files and recover your data in them as much as possible, so to minimize the loss in file corruption.
When your dBase, FoxBase, FoxPro and Visual FoxPro databases(.dbf files) are damaged or corrupt due to various reasons and you cannot open them normally, you can use Advanced DBF Repair to scan the dbf files and recover the data from the files as much as possible.
Step 1
Download Advanced DBF Repairand install it. Start Advanced DBF Repair.
Note: Before recovering damaged or corrupt dbf file with Advanced DBF Repair, please close any other applications that may modify the dbf file.
Step 2
Select the damaged or corrupt dbf file to be repaired:
You can input the dbf filename directly or click  button to browse and select the file. You may also click  button to find the dbf file to be repaired on the local computer.
Step 3
In combo box  , you may also select the version for the dbf file so that the fixed dbf file will be compatible with the specified version. Currently the following versions are supported:
dBASE III
dBASE IV
dBASE 5
FoxBase
FoxPro 2.0
FoxPro 2.5
FoxPro 2.6
Visual FoxPro
By default, the version is set to "Auto Detect" so that Advanced DBF Repair will detect the version of the source dbf file and output the fixed one according to the detected version. However, if the output file cannot be opened successfully by your application, then you can specify the version to force Advanced DBF Repair to generate a file that is compatible with your application.
Step 4
By default, Advanced DBF Repair will save the fixed dbf database into a new file named xxxx_fixed.dbf, where xxxx is the name of the source dbf file. For example, for source dbf file Damaged.dbf, the default fixed file will be Damaged_fixed.dbf. If you want to use another name, then please select or set it accordingly:
You can input the fixed file name directly or click button to browse and select the fixed file.
Step 5
Click  button, Advanced DBF Repair will start scanning and repairing the source dbf file. Progress bar  will indicate the repair progress.
After the repair process, if the source dbf database can be repaired successfully, you will see a messagebox like this:

Now you can open the fixed dbf file with the corresponding applications.
Note: The demo version will display the following messagebox to show the success of the recovery:
where you can click  button to see a detailed report of all the recoverable fields and records, like this:
According to the report, you can know whether Advanced DBF Repair can recover your dbf file. However, the demo version will not save the fixed dbf file. Please order the full version to get the file.
