Cradle of Rome

Summary:

Become the Emperor of Rome as you match tiles and build your Empire in this truly original matching game.

Cradle of Rome - Construct Your Own Rome!

Pros:
The set scenes are very pleasant to view, and the sound effect is attractive. It's very interesting to play this game.

Cons:
There's only one mode for players to play. As a puzzle game (match three game), there should be at least one more mode for advanced users to play. Compared with Zuma, there is a lack of "gauntlet" selection.

Game Review
When I played it at first time, it brought me a familiar feeling - this game belongs to puzzle game and it's a typical "match three" game. The familiar feeling also made me recalled another similar game, Bejeweled 2 Deluxe, as the play mode is the same as that one.

While it differentiates from Bejeweled 2 Deluxe in many ways: the most important difference is the countdown of each level, that is, you should finish matching in limited time, otherwise you will lose one life. This point can be seen as an addictive factor to attract players to replay.

It's very intuitive for players at all levels to get familiar with Cradle of Rome; and it's good for us to get acquaintance with the plot of this game, isn't it?

As an old saying goes, "Rome wasn't built in a day", the prosperity of ancient Rome wasn't built in a short time; the emperor of Rome makes all efforts to construct his country; and then Rome became one out of four Ancient Civilizations.

You the wise may guess what I'm going to discuss, right? Though it is a game to build Rome, game degree isn't that easy as you imagined. As I mentioned above, the countdown is on as soon as you start playing this game. It usually leaves you 5 minutes to match these stuffs.
If you pass beyond the limited time, you will lose one life and would restart the level. It's a time - consuming job for you to construct, isn't it?

Let's concentrate on the settings of game levels. It offers each player a single story - based mode with over 100 levels across five epochs (stages) to finish. During you acquire higher stage, your identity will rise, and that is, the different levels will range players' ID from lowly peasant to supreme emperor.

play mode of Cradle of Rome

The reason why I said it's similar with Bejeweled 2 Deluxe is the play mode. You could utilize the adjacent tiles to match three and eliminate the same ones; as a result, you can also create combos by swapping these same categories stuffs. While, the results of matches are important, yet it also requires your wisdom to hit the nail on the head.

If you are new to this game, do not fear so much. There are some secure bonuses provided for you, such as hammer, lightning, bomb and hourglass. What do they use for? The hammer breaks tiles, plaques or chains; lightening hits twenty random tiles; bombs explode squares of nine tiles each and hourglass adds water to the jar (it would add more time).

Each level is finished with a new scene, which is created by your pains - taking jobs. Don't you want to see the effects?

Conclusion:
As a puzzle game, it is a unique design in its plot. It's a good alternative to Zuma or Bejeweled 2 Deluxe, if you are a puzzle game fan, you could try this game and experience what are the differences in it. Would you like to try?
