How to setup Yahoo Mail Alerts in Yahoo Messenger?

When you have an email, all of you would like to have an alter to remind you that you have an email. Now you have installed Yahoo Messenger, but how to set up Yahoo Mail alters in Yahoo Messenger.

Step 1: To get Yahoo! Mail alerts, you'll need to have Yahoo! Messenger installed on your computer, and then you can set up a Yahoo! Mail alert from there. If you don't have it, you can download Yahoo Messenger 10 free and install it.

Step 2: Open Yahoo Messenger. From the "Messenger" menu, select "Preferences", and the " Yahoo! Messenger Preferences" window will open.

Step 3: Under Category on the left, click "Alerts & Sounds", and the Alerts & Sounds settings options will display on the right.

Step 4: Under "Alert me when," select I receive a message in Yahoo! Mail. A list of options will display below under "Alert me by."

Step 5: Under "Alert me by," select the check boxes for the alert options that you'd like to receive. For example, if you'd like a sound to play, select the check box option for "Playing a sound." You can choose different sounds by clicking "Browse."

Tips: Clear the check boxes for alert options that you don't want to receive. If you don't want to receive any alerts, clear all the check boxes.

Step 6: At the bottom of the window, click "Apply "and then "OK".

Tips: You must have Yahoo! Messenger open and be signed in to receive your alerts for new Yahoo! Mail.
