"Every time I turn on my computer, I get the Quicktime Icon in the system tray. I ran MS Config and unchecked the line labeled "qttask" and rebooted but in a few days it comes back. What can I do to stop Quicktime Icon in the Windows System Tray?

Step 1: Download QuickTime Player free and install QuickTime Player on your computer. Then double click the icon of QuickTime Player, make it running.
Step 2: Right click on Quicktime Iconand select Quicktime Preferences. In the resulting dialog, click on the Advanced tab.
Step 3: Make sure that the checkbox labeled Install Quicktime icon in system tray is unchecke.
Step 4: Click OK on that dialog, the tray applet goes away.
Once you have done all the steps mentioned above, you have turned off Quicktime Icon in the Windows System Tray. Even you reboot you computer, Quicktime Icon will not appear in the Windows System tray. This will not appear until the next time Quicktime is updated.
