General
General Preferences include options for currency conversions, encounters, and some basic game play options.
- Chart display always follows selection - This option, when checked, will cause the chart display to update based on the currently selected item in the Market or Inventory lists. As you select different items in the lists, the chart display will update to show you the stats on the selected item.
- Always ask to hire informant when I take action - This option allows you to turn on or off the 'Would you like to hire an informant' prompt which appears after you buy or sell product in a location where you do not already have an informant.
- Cash Currency - This allows you to change the currency conversion used in the game. The game will automatically convert all values based on the conversion rate for the selected currency. (Currency rates are updated with each major release).
- Combat Delay - This option allows you to control the speed at which events occur during a conflict encounter. This setting is measured in milliseconds. The larger the Combat Delay, the slower the conflict will unfold.
- Violence - This option enables the game violence, which allows you to buy weapons, and actually 'fight' in various encounters.
Bank Accounts
Bank Account Preferences allow you to customize how certain aspects of the banking functions work.
- Withdraw All Amount - This option defines the amount of money to leave in an account when you click the 'Withdraw All' button.

- Enable this sound effect - This option enables or disables the selected effect. This allows you to disable certain sound effects, while leaving others enabled.
- Sound - This specifies the sound file to play for the selected event. You may use the Browse button to find the file you would like to play.
- Play / Stop - The Play and Stop buttons allow you to preview the selected sound file.
Game Statistics
Game Statistics Preferences allow you to configure how game stats and histories are handled.
- Automatically export stats for every game - This option will instruct the software to automatically export a copy of the game statistics for every game you play.
- Export To - This option defines where automatically exported game stats will be saved.
- Format - These options control the output format for exported stats. You can select from the following:

- Save game histories for later viewing - This option will cause the game to save the history for every game played. This allows you to view the history for a previous game when you open the game's statistics. When this option is unchecked, history data is erased at the end of every game and cannot be retrieved.
