How to install the HP Photosmart Digital Camera software CD?
This article shows instructions for setting up the HP Photo Imaging software, and using the Share-to-Web feature.

To install the HP Photo Imaging software with the Share-to-Web feature, follow these steps:
1. Insert the HP Photosmart Digital Camera software CD into the CD-ROM drive. You also can download the latest version from here: HP Photosmart Digital Camera Photo and Imaging Software 2.0. The installation should automatically start, if this does not occur within one minute, follow these steps:
a. Click the Start button, then click Run .
b. Browse to the CD-ROM drive and locate the Setup.exe file in the root directory (folder).
c. Click Open , then click OK and the program will start.
2. During the initial software setup screen, there is a prompt to close all Windows programs. To do this, open either the Task Manager (Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP), or the Close Programs window (Windows 98 and Me).
3. Select to install the HP Photo Imaging Software suite, the HP Photo Printing Software suite or both. To fully utilize all the features of the imaging products, it is recommended to install both of these software suites, and to use the default directories on X:\Program Files\Hewlett Packard\Photosmart.
NOTE: In this document, X: will be used to represent the drive where Windows is installed, generally the C: drive.
4. Verify these settings and the license agreement. The software will then be copied to the hard disk. (During the software copy process, all drivers, support files and applications will be added to the hard disk and the necessary links created within the operating system.)
5. After the necessary drivers are installed to the computer, the Share-to-Web Installation screen will be displayed.
6. When the destination screens are displayed, choose the default folder locations.
7. When the ACDSee installation screen appears, select it in order to take advantage of the review of images after unloading the camera, and when other functions of Share-to-Web are being used.
8. When the License Information screen appears, agree to the license.
NOTE: For best results, do not change the Valued HP Customer in the name field.
9. After the software suite(s) are installed, the Web Update Wizard will appear and there will be a prompt to update the camera firmware and software.
At this point the Imaging and Printing Software Suites will be available.
Installing the Bonus Software
To install the Bonus Software package, follow these steps:
1. Click the Start button on the Windows task bar and select Run from the resulting menu.
2. On the CD-ROM Drive, double-click the Bonus folder.
3. Locate Setup.exe in the Bonus folder and double-click the setup icon.
4. The software installer will then start.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the software installation.
The Bonus software will give the option of placing a desktop icon for the software. This is only a matter of preference.
