6 Basic Steps to find the correct software or driver for an HP product
1. Go to the HP Software Download Page. Check all drivers from HP.
2. Enter the HP product name/ number (example: Pavilion dv9206eu, LaserJet 1100 or C4224A).
3. Select the operating system (such as Windows Vista) that is being used on your computer.
A Web page containing a list of available drivers and software updates appears.
NOTE: If the operating system that you need is not listed, drivers are not available from HP at this time or cannot be downloaded in the current language.
4. Find the software or driver package that you would like to install from the list.
NOTE: If a specific software or driver update is not listed on the Web page, the original software that is already on the computer may be the latest version available.
5. Click the link for the software or driver title that you want to download.
6. Read the instructions on the download page, and then download and install the software or driver.
IMPORTANT: If you see more than one download available for a component in your product (such as DVD firmware updates), you need to identify which component you have in your computer and then download the appropriate file for that component. To find your component details, go to Device Manager and click the plus sign ( + ) next to the appropriate component (for example, DVD/CD ROM drives ). The component¡¯s original manufacturer will be listed and you can use that information to identify the appropriate download for your product.
NOTE: The HP Customer Care Download site only contains downloads for HP-branded products. If you are looking for downloads for a device that is not part of an HP-branded product, please refer to the product vendor's website for downloads and other updates.
