Problem
If you are using WINDOWS Millennium, installed the digital camera software successfully, and were unable to access the KODAK camera drivers, the problem is that WINDOWS Millennium defaults to the WINDOWS Image Acquisition (WIA) drivers. Since you could not disable or override this default, you could not access the Kodak drivers, and you couldn't use the camera.
Solution
Kodak has software that you can download that will fix the problem.
-
Go to http://www.kodak.com/go/DCWinMe.
-
Follow the instructions on the Web site at http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/software/dcDsu/dcDsu.jhtml to download the WINDOWS Me KODAK Digital Camera Driver Selection Utility (DSU) or use the instructions here:
-
Double-click the language link of your choice.
-
Save the Utility to a location on your computer.
-
Make sure that the KODAK Digital Camera software is installed in your computer.
-
Connect the camera to the computer using the USB port.
-
Turn on the camera and set it to Connect.
The MICROSOFT camera drivers load. The MICROSOFT Software must load in order for the Utility to work properly. Once loaded, the Scanner and Camera Wizard appear.
-
Exit the application.
-
Double-click the downloaded KODAK Driver Selection Utility to run it.
- Choose your KODAK digital camera model from the drop-down list.
- Choose a driver.
- Click the button labeled "Kodak" to switch to the KODAK driver software.
-
Disconnect and reconnect the camera.
-
The KODAK drivers should be visible.
If the KODAK drivers are not visible, restart your computer.
