Pod to Mac - Copy and transfer from iPod to Mac and iTunes
Pod to Mac is freeware that lets you copy or transfer music, videos and playlists from an iPod or iPhone to your Mac and into iTunes.
Step 1:
Open iTunes.
Step 2a:
Connect your iPod with the USB cable.
Step 2b:
Do NOT erase and sync. Press the cancel button.
If you have an iPhone, iTouch, iPod Touch or something that looks like the picture above, continue to Step 4. These iPods cannot be put into disk mode and will work fine the way they are..
If you have an iPod regular, iPod small, iPod smaller, iPod smallest, iCan’tFindMyPodBecauseIt’sSoDamnSmall, or an iPod that looks anything like anything in the above picture, then you will need to put it into disk mode or Pod to Mac will not work with it. Follow the instructions in step 3.
Step 3: As of Pod to Mac version 3.02 (released on Aug. 27, 2009), automatic disk mode hijacking has been enabled. To enable disk-mode on your iPod, all you have to do now is connect your ipod to your computer while Pod to Mac is open and running. You can now skip this step and move staight to step 4.
Step 4a:
Open Pod to Mac.
(iTunes Should be open, and displaying no pop-ups)
Step 4b:
Tell Pod to Mac to “Auto-Sync” and you’ll recover all the music, videos and playlists from your iPod.
Step 4c:
Important! Do not skip this step!
Confirm that your music is in iTunes by going to iTunes and playing a few of the transferred tracks.
