Description for DTS codecs
DTS is a non-MPEG audio compression standard for DVD that competes with Dolby Digital, the other non-MPEG standard. DTS is less compressed than Dolby Digital (AC3) and many claim it offers superior sound quality. Data rates for DTS on DVD range up to 1.5 Mbps. DTS also offers surround music CDs.
