Pros:
It's very easy for operation; the content of a PDF file could be saved as Word, Excel, Text or other formats, which is very convenient. It also shows as a plug-in hidden in Microsoft Office toolkit.
Cons:
The conversion process is not very fluent; there is some crashes when it’s in the process of conversion.
Benefits:
As an editor, most time we should make friends with Word, Excel, PDF or RTF files, for we need them to help our jobs run smoothly. Some users may prefer Microsoft Office toolkit to PDF files, since PDF files could not be launched directly and you have to download a PDF Reader for launching them. If PDF could be launched as Word, Excel or Text files, there would be more convenient.
This is a powerful tool which supports many common formats--the converted PDF could be stored as .doc, .xls, .txt, .html, .rtf and the like. It's more convenient to convert a PDF without a PDF Reader. Yet the conversion speed is not as fast as I imagined, will next version improve it?
The trial version is of humanity, for there is no nagging or limitations during experiencing this program. So PDF users could try this version, if you really like, order it.
Setup
It doesn't take long to install this program, as the installation wizard is easy and straightforward. Just follow the navigation and the program will appear on the desktop. There is no adware, spyware as well as malware; therefore you could install the whole program without hesitation
Should you decide to remove the whole program, there is no uninstall icon. What you need do is to delete it manually--launch "Control Panel" and select it, click "Add or Remove Programs". After removal, do not forget to remove the folder as well.
Interface
The interface is very concise and clear for users to watch. It's very elaborate for operations as there is an introduction to lead users. The interface of this one is totally different from other tools’, for it is designed as a nice one, but a practical tool.
System Requirements
Abbyy PDF Transformer is compatible with Windows 98, 2000, ME, NT, and XP; Vista users would wait for a version designed for their OS. The RAM requires 64MB (for Windows 2000 or above version) or 32MB (Windows 98/ME). The hard space for this tool should be 220MB. These requirements are not difficult to meet.
Conclusion
It is an easy to use program. The prompts are very friendly, even a beginner could operate this tool with ease. Abbyy PDF Transformer is a considerate tool for PDF frequent users to open or backup their important PDF files.
It's at lease worth trying. I strongly recommend PDF users to own this program, for it is powerful in transforming PDF files.
