Strength:

Notehere is a security protection program, which could keep your files and information safe and secret. It lets you set your encryption key to the selected files that others can not open. Unlike password protection, encryption mixes the encryption key with the file content and makes it totally unreadable. So you can store the encrypted files anywhere on the Internet and nobody can open it.

Weakness:

The Help File could be improved better—it’s an online one, which is not very detailed.

Benefits

As we are all sensitive to the privacy in our computers, an assistant to keep secrets is a must. Though we can set an administrator before entering our operating systems, it’s a moderate way to keep secrets; if you’d like to keep your secrets more safely, you’d better employ another “assistant”—especially when you share files with other people or multi user accounts.

Since there is a special feature for users who share files with others—you can set “open Exclusive” feature by clicking right mouse button, then you would avoid files being overwritten by others.

Notehere is a tool for you to encrypt the folders or files that are not read or shared by others. The encrypted files or folder could not be revealed unless you leak the passwords to others. That is, this tool for users is quite safe to keep privacy.

Setup

This facility is a really mini size file that does not need to install or delete. At first, I was surprised with what I found—the size of Notehere is 344KB! This is the smallest tool that I have used. It doesn’t install anything in your computer, if you want to launch it, just click the icon on your desk top. Could I call it a completely clean program?

Interface

The interface of Notehere is convenient, too. It’s easy to operate and no more difficult steps. It’s more suitable for a newbie to protect his files; a seasoned user could operate it with ease. There are only three tabs as well as three icons on the main interface. If you are not sure how to start, the Help tab could help you.

System Requirements

There are no special requirements of Notehere. My Computer’s configuration is a moderate one—Windows XP operating system; 512 RAM; 80GB (this program only takes up 344KB); the stability of Notehere is well on my platform, so I believe it also runs smoothly on your platforms.

Conclusion

Notehere is a convenient instrument for users because there are no installation steps or any malwares in it.

It’s different from a password protection tool that we can store the encrypted files anywhere on the Internet and nobody can open it, for this smart program mixes the encryption key with the file content and makes it totally unreadable.

The program still needs improving. As far as I’m concerned, the only deficiency is Help File needs adding more detailed information. The online help shows steps of encrypting files, but I expect some solutions to frequent problems (FAQ). Will next version do?

it's quite secure yet the manual would add more information. I didn't know how to use when I first launched it.
