It does NOT need any Adobe Acrobat software.

PDF2TXT most possibly keeps the original page layout, so for most files, you can directly use the result text files without any editing.

PDF2TXT allows for using command line options to convert, therefore you can incorporate conversion within your batch file or even your own application.
