How to backup, restore hard disk's EMBR information by using BootIt NG |

| You can back up or restore the EMBR ( Extended Master Boot Record) information (the entire first track) from any selected hard
disk. You can also back up and restore BootIt NG Files. |

| Back up a hard disk’s EMBR information |
| 1. On the main maintenance screen, click Backup. |
| |
| 2. In the Backup & Restore dialog box, under Select, click Backup. |
| |
| 3. Under EMBR, select the check boxes next to each hard disk whose entire first track EMBR
information you want to back up. |
| |
| 4. Optional: To copy the BootIt NG Files to a floppy disk, insert a floppy disk, select the BootIt
NG check box, and then select either drive A or drive B as appropriate. |

| 5. Click OK. |
| The EMBR of all selected hard disks is backed up to the partition with BootIt NG. If you
have also chosen to back up the BootIt NG Files, those files plus the other BootIt NG files
are copied to a floppy disk. |

| Restore a hard disk’s EMBR information |
|
| 1. On the main maintenance screen, click Restore. |
| |
| 2. In the Backup & Restore dialog box, under Select, click Restore. |
| |
| 3. Under EMBR, select the check boxes next to each hard disk whose entire first track EMBR
information (including the MBR) you want to restore. |

| 4. To restore the BootIt NG Files from a floppy disk, insert the disk, select the BootIt NG check box, and then select either drive A or drive B as appropriate.You can only restore the
BootIt NG files or the EMBR for given drives per single operation. |

| 5. Click OK. |
| The EMBR of all selected hard disks are restored. If you chose to restore the BootIt NG
Files, the EMBR files plus the other BootIt NG files are restored from the floppy disk to the
EMBRM partition. |
