How to Remove commercial from a TV show
Now let's suppose you want to capture a TV show and remove all of the useless parts like commercial, etc from it. For that you should have a TV tuner connected to your computer.
To do it you should do the following:
Step 1: Capture the TV show from TV tuner.
To capture a TV show please make sure that your TV tuner is connected to your computer and all of the necessary drivers are installed. In AVS Video Editor click the Capture button in the Capture/Import menu pane. After that the AVS Capture Wizard wizard will start.
At the Device tab you should set the following parameters for video capturing:

Select a Video Device from the list of the available video devices. It is the list of devices available in the system. Note, that it's possible to change video device settings clicking the Configure button.

Set Video Input .

Set a Video Standard from the list of available video standards.

Select the Output size in the drop-down combo box.

Note that you can change the Frame Rate clicking the appropriate button.

To modify audio parameters, first select an Audio Device or mute it checking the appropriate check-box and select Audio Input and output Audio Format .

You can also configure TV Channels clicking the Configure... button at the bottom of the preview window.

After you finish please click the Record tab:

At this tab you should specify output format settings. Note that you can select between the original or custom format settings. In case you select custom video and audio settings, note that there is an opportunity to modify video codec parameters clicking the Advanced... button. Here you should also enter the file name for your saved movie and set its location.

At the Schedule tab you can also split the output file by size or by time. Besides, it's possible to set stop capture parameters for your convenience.
To start/pause/stop capturing please use the appropriate buttons. You can visually judge the capturing process with the help of Preview .
After capturing process is complete, click the Next>> button and AVS Capture Wizard will suggest that you import the captured material into AVS Video Editor .
For further convenience while editing project you might want to split the imported file into scenes. Each scene will be displayed as a separate clip in the collection. For that check the Enable Scene Detection check-box and choose the type of importing video from the list. After you are done, click the Import button.
You can visually judge the importing process with the help of Preview . To cancel importing click the Cancel button. You can also see the quantity of scenes found in the imported movie.
Please note that you can simply drag the files to be imported from the Explorer and drop them to the Media Library .
And now you should place the captured videos to the storyboard .
Step 2: Place the captured video to the Storyboard.

To start placing the captured video to the storyboard please click the Create Video icon in the Edit Movie menu pane. |
After that you will find the Media Library items and clips present in the highlighted item in the Media Library and the Workspace displayed in the Storyboard mode. Working in this mode you can add or remove video clips to your project, change the sequence of clips at storyboard, trim video clips added to your project.
To add video to the storyboard please use drag-and-drop method: drag the desired video icon from the Media Library to the Storyboard :

To change the sequence of your video clips it's convenient to use the Move Left and Move Right buttons. Note that there is an opportunity to use a multiselection feature: all of the videos selected in the Media Library will be added to the Storyboard .
When all of the necessary video clips are added, it's time to cut the unnecessary commercial in Timeline mode .
Step 3: Cut the unnecessary commercial in the Timeline mode.

To cut the needless video you should switch into the Timeline mode. For that click the Video Effects button in the Edit Movie menu pane.

After that find out the starting position of the unnecessary video episode and move the Timeline cursor to it. It is very convenient to use the Main Preview for that. Click the Show/Hide Preview button to open the Main Preview window.

You can use the Timeline cursor or the Main Preview seeking bar to navigate through your video. When the desired place is found, you should set a marker at this point. For that click the Markers tab located in the right lower corner and click the Add button. Then repeat the sequence of actions described above to set a marker at the end position of the area you want to delete.

After that you should do the following:
- double-click the starting position marker in the markers list;
- click the Go To button;
- click the ending position marker in the markers list;
- click the Select button.
The part of your video from the starting marker till the ending marker will be selected at the Timeline and highlighted.

After all, please click the Split/Delete button . Then AVS Video Editor will automatically take you to the Storyboard view where your input video clip will be represented as two clips: the first one will contain video information from the beginning till the starting position marker, and the second one - from the ending position marker till the end of your input video clip.

Now it's time to preview the result .
Step 4: Preview the result with the help of the Main Preview.
The Main Preview is intended for previewing the whole project with audio and all of the effects and changes you have made. This is exactly what we need!

Move the Timeline cursor to the position where you want to start previewing.

Click the Play Preview button.
