Installing on Novell Network
This system differs from Microsoft Networks in that it does not require mapping of virtual drives on client stations. So, instead of mapping each client station to the server folder using Z:, you just enter the full path of the server folder, as follows:
1. First, create a new folder on the server hard disk to house the shared database:
e.g. G:\ApptServer (assuming G: is the name of the server disk, and ApptServer is the name of the new folder to house the shared database file db.mdb).
2. Next, select one workstation to act as the Admin station to install the database to the server folder, and also to perform housekeeping chores (like file backups, template configuration, etc.). When you run the program locally for the first time, answer Yes to the question "Is this station acting as the server or admin station?". In the Input Box that follows, enter the full path of the server folder as above:
e.g. G:\ApptServer

3. On all other client stations, when you run the program locally for the first time, answer No to the question asked, and in the Input Box that follows, enter the same full path of the server folder as above: e.g. G:\Apptserver |

In Novell networks, you do not need to install the program on the server. The server acts only as the file-server. You run the program locally on all workstations. But only the admin station has rights to change program settings and do file backups.
