Sound Cue System

The Sound Cue System (SCS) has been designed to play sound cues such as sound effects and music cues The Sound Cue System (SCS) is able to play sound cues such as sound effects and music cues for live productions. With SCS you can assemble all the cues you need in the order in which they are to be played. Sound files are pre-loaded and are instantly playable.

In tech week you'll appreciate the ability to easily jump to any cue, adjust cue levels and add new cues. Sound cues for performances will have the professional touch you expect as the timing of cues is easy to manage, and the order, levels and pan settings of cues will all have been pre-programmed.

SCS isn't just for theatre use. SCS is also used for school and university productions, drama presentations at church services and conferences, by illusionists, and has even been used for a wedding and for internet seminars (webinars). SCS is also being used by a basketball team during games at their home venue.

Here are some key features of "Sound Cue System":

  • Build and save a list of Audio File Cues
  • Assign the required level (volume) and pan for each cue
  • Loop audio file cues
  • Include Stop/Fade-Out Cues to terminate or fade-out cues when required
  • Play several audio files simultaneously
  • Set up Hot keys to play selected audio file cues at any time
  • Start cues by a mouse right-click or by clicking a 'Go' button on the screen. You can, for example, step through the cues for a show using a simple right-click on the mouse.

    Requirements:
  • Processor - All current-day processors will satisfactorily handle SCS.
  • A minimum of 256Mb memory is recommended.
  • Sound card - Any good or at least reasonable sound card should work satisfactorily with SCS. Please note that a cheap sound card or on-board sound processor may give satisfactory results when you listen to cues through your PC speakers, but may give less than satisfactory results when played through the sound system at your theatre.
  • Sound driver - The audio library used by SCS requires DirectX ( Microsoft)
  • MIDI in - If you wish to control cues using MIDI input messages sent by a separate controller device, your PC must have a MIDI input port.
  • MIDI out - If you wish to use cues that send MIDI messages sent to an external device (or devices) then your PC must have a MIDI output port. The MIDI output port can also be used for MIDI Thru to automatically stream MIDI input messages to the MIDI output port, whether or not those messages are used by SCS.
  • Disk space - SCS requires about 7.5Mb of disk storage plus the size of some common windows components (DLL's), but sound files, especially PCM wave files, can be many megabytes in size.
  • Display size - A screen display size of at least 1024 by 768 pixels is required.

    Limitations:
  • An individual SCS session is limited to 30 minutes. After 30 minutes you will need to close and restart the program to continue.
  • You may test the demo functionality of SCS for up to 30 days. After 30 days the 30 minute session limit is reduced to 5 minutes
