CyberLink PowerEncoder MPEG-4 AVC Edition is a video capturing and file conversion application. You can convert files into high-quality compressed files using the MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding (H.264) or MPEG-4 Simple Video Profile (SP) standards.
Capturing From DV Camcorders
PowerEncoder MPEG-4 AVC lets you quickly capture and convert video directly from DV camcorders (or DV cameras). Playback is supported via Media Viewer, a plug-in for PowerDVD 6 or Windows Media Player (on machines installed with PowerEncoder MPEG-4 AVC).
What is MPEG-4 Simple Profile (SP)?
MPEG-4 Simple Profile (SP) is designed primarily for devices with low processing power such as mobile and wireless devices and is ideally suited for video telephony, video-conferencing, or real-time desktop software encoding. MPEG-4 SP, also known as MPEG-4 Part 2, is a key video format adopted by Sony for its handheld entertainment device, the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP).
What is MPEG-4 AVC?
MPEG-4 AVC (H.264), also known as MPEG-4 Part 10, has already been included by the DVD Forum as a mandatory capability of players for the HD-DVD format and adopted by Blu-ray DVDs. By offering a superior quality to other video compression standards, MPEG-4 AVC provides many opportunities for implementation via digital TV, mobile phones, and DVD storage.
