MoodLogic is a networked music manager based on song information MoodLogic is based on song information, because over the past several years, MoodLogic users have provided excellent information about their music collections.

Getting the most out of your music can take a lot of work. You have to get up and put different CDs in your CD player, you have to manually create mixes and burn them on CDs or transfer them to portable players, you have to spend time seeking out and downloading music from the Web. Digital music players are good, but even they are limited in their ability to generate playlists.

  • Tap into the MoodLogic database for the most comprehensive song data available
  • Profile your music and grow the MoodLogic database


    When you use MoodLogic, you can Activate songs automatically or profile them manually. If you Activate your songs automatically, you tap into the MoodLogic database for information about the songs on your computer. This automatically associates song data to your songs, including artist, title, genre, tempo, release year, and/or mood. You can then use MoodLogic to create mixes and so forth.

    You can also provide your own song data about any of your songs (this is known as manually profiling). Once MoodLogic has data about your songs, your songs are considered to be "Active" and you can use them to take advantage of MoodLogic's best features.

    Once your songs are activated, your songs will have one of two statuses: Mixable and Non-Mixable. Two things determine whether a song is Mixable. First, the song has to have certain data properties, and the properties have to be of high quality, to make it eligible. Then the song is compared to the rest of your music collection and its similarity to groups of songs will ultimately make the song eligible for Instant Mixing. You can Instant Mix any Mixable song.
