How to resize/resample an image
1. Select "Resize..." from the Edit menu to display the Resize/Resample Image dialog box.
2. Choose the Purpose of resampling: Resized image or Thumbnail.
3. Select desired Interpolation method (B-Spline, Bell or Mitchell).
4. Select new size. You can type the value in the corresponding edit box, use up-down buttons to adjust values, or choose from the list of the Most recently used options.
Note: when you open this dialog box, the last applied options are set by default. It makes the same actions with multiple of images much easier.
- If you have selected Resized Image as the purpose:
The new size you are setting is the size of the resulting resized image. You can choose in what units size to be displayed (Percents or Pixels). The Maintain aspect ratio checkbox allows turn off/on keeping the image proportions.
- If you have selected Thumbnail as the purpose:
The new size you are setting is the size of the bounding rectangle which can contain the resulting resized image without loosing of its proportions.
5. Click OK and wait the process to be completed. The Progress bar within the main window indicates the current stage of the process.
AJC will open the resulting image in a new image window.
